ANNUAL TECHNICAL CONFERENCE

The Conference is the largest educational event for the cookie and cracker industry, and attending bakers primarily have a production, research and development or management background.  There is also representation from other specialties such as engineering and sanitation as well as a large allied trade representation.

Beneficial for all experience and knowledge levels found in the industry, sessions concentrate on production, technology and management subjects. Topics range from the immediately timely to the foundational subjects that every baker is required to continually educate and update themselves on.  The Conference consists of general and breakout sessions, expert panels and an Allied table top exhibit.  There is also plenty of opportunity to network with members at the golf outing, guest tour and evening events.

ANNUAL CONVENTION

The Convention is a perfect opportunity for executives in the cookie and cracker industry and the allied trades to meet and discuss the critical issues impacting their businesses.  The general sessions discuss varying aspects of the industry from strategic business planning, demographics and trends, commodities, and governmental impact.  The Convention also provides many networking activities including a golf outing, guest tour, dinner and reception events.

SAFETY AWARDS

The Safety Awards serve to recognize member bakeries that demonstrate a healthy and safe work environment.  The Contest is based upon the DART Incident Rate.  The annual national average incident rate for the cookie and cracker manufacturing industry is used to determine the contest winners.  The contest forms are available in January and may be submitted through mid March.  For more information contact kkinter@thebcma.org.
