Committees

 

The Board of Directors has established a number of committees to deal with particular subjects of concern to the industry. Committees provide input to the Board to assist in policy determination. Committee membership consists of representatives from member companies thus ensuring that the views of individual B&CMA members are recognized and used to their best advantage. The B&CMA is also represented on committees independent of the Association which considers matters of interest to the biscuit and cracker industry.

Present committees include:

 

Agricultural Commodities

The Agricultural Commodities Committee tracks developments at USDA along with farm policy issues.
 

Allied Advisory

The committee for allied members, an integral part of the Association, provides  input to the Association concerning issues of mutual interest. The Chairman of the Allied Advisory Committee attends the Board of Directors meetings to represent all of the allied member companies.  The Allied Advisory Committee also plays an intregal part in the annual Technical Conference and in membership recruitment.
 

Convention Planning

The Convention Planning Committee develops an overall plan and format for the Annual Convention.
 

Education

The Education Committee examines the educational needs of the industry and recommends various programs. It participates in developing and organizing the yearly Technical Conference.
 

Environmental Issues

The Environmental Affairs Committee assists the Association in reviewing and responding to EPA proposed rules and regulations. The Association coordinates member participation in required EPA programs.
 

Financial Planning

The Financial Planning Committee works closely with the B&CMA staff in developing the operating budget for the Association.
 

Flour

The Flour Committee conducts Association sponsored research and monitors flour quality issues.
 

Legislative and Regulatory Affairs

This committee assists the B&CMA in analyzing proposed FDA rules and regulations and develops industry comments.
 

Safety

The Safety Committee reviews OSHA regulations and trade industry developments. It also responds to proposed regulations.
